Senior Pets and Dogs with Health Issues
Grooming can sometimes be very stressful, especially for senior pets, or a pet with current health problems. Grooming may expose hidden medical conditions or aggravate existing ones during or after the groom. Because senior pets and pets with health problems have a greater chance of injury, these pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort, not beauty.
Please do not think your dog will enjoy being groomed (spa day) if your dog is old and it is having difficulty standing or sitting for any length of time. Most old or unhealthy dogs do not enjoy being groomed. Sometimes it is very painful and very hard on them; please do not put them through any unnecessary stress and discomfort.
Neither I, nor, Wagging Wheels will be held responsible for injury to an elderly pet or a pet with health issues during their groom.
If your dog has had surgery and stitches or staples are still intact , I can not groom your dog. The incision must be completely healed and released from the doctor to be able to be groomed.
Matted Pets
Grooming a heavily matted pet will have risks of skin nicks, abrasions and or cuts, this is due to skin tags, warts, moles, or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture near the skin allowing mold, fungus, or bacteria to grow, that will cause skin irritations that will show after the grooming process. After-effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions and sometimes failure of hair to re-grow in spots. Shaved pets are also prone to sunburn and should be kept out of the sun until the hair grows out a bit to protect the skin. In some cases pets may also show brief behavioral changes. You are responsible as the owner for your pets’ coat. Neither I, nor Wagging Wheels, will be held responsible for adverse effects of the mat removal.
I DO NOT De-Matt matted dogs or matted areas with tools

Summer Shave Downs
Shaving a double coated dog during the summers will not keep your dog cooler. A pet’s coat provides insulation and protection from the sun helps regulate body temperature, Also shaving their coats may cause them to grow back in a different texture, dull, patchy or not at all. If you are looking to cut back on shedding or thinning their coat to keep your pet cool, I recommend a de-shedding treatment. That includes a special DE-shedding shampoo and conditioner, with extensive brushing with de-shedding tools.DE-shedding package is available at a small up charge depending on the severity of the coat.

Safety comes first for everyone during the grooming process, people as well as pets
*You must inform me prior to grooming if your pet has aggressive tendencies while being groomed.
I will make every effort to ensure your pet’s grooming is pleasant and safe. If your pet becomes ill or is hurt and the services of a veterinarian are required, you hereby give us permission to obtain treatment if you are not available to do so and you agree to pay such expenses.
Owners could be held responsible for any major bites or van damage caused by their pet. I will stop the groom if I feel your pet’s behavior is compromising its safety or mine. I will charge for the amount of the groom that gets finished. With that being said, if your pet becomes totally unruly and is only half done , I will stop and your dog will be returned to you that way and then suggest it be sedated at a vet office that does grooming.

Not Home, No Problem
If you find it more convenient for me to come to your home while you are out, just leave me a key or your key code or leave your door open and when your dog is finished I will lock up behind me. You can leave your payment (cash or check) and I will leave you your next appointment date and time.
Veterinary Care
I do require all pets to be current on their rabies vaccines. Please have a vaccination record ready in case needed.
Can I Watch You Groom My Pet?
Due to insurance reasons and safety factors, neither clients nor their children may enter the mobile vehicle while grooming is in session. I would be happy to show you my vehicle before grooming your pet.
In addition to your personal safety, your pet will get excited and or anxious when they see you outside near the van, making it more difficult for me to groom your pet.
Please just let your dog come with me and I will bring them to the door as soon has they are done.
